Nikhil Puri-Profile

Nikhil Puri is one of the most improved players in this USC squad, born in Mumbai and raised in Auckland, this lad has travelled far and wide in search of cricketing solace. He has also trained in England for a brief period but has finally returned to the city of angels, to play with the USC Trojans. Nikhil is amongst the more experienced guys in the team having been in the Trojan Squad for 3 years.

Nikhil started his career as a solid middle/top order batsman and a pace bowler for the trojans. However, a shoulder injury has forced him out of the bowling attack for the moment. Nikhil is one of the most technically correct batsmen in the team and has been in terrific form since the beginning of Winter league 2009 season. He has developed and matured as a finisher for the trojans and relishes batting when the conditions are tough. In the 2009 season Nikhil's innings against the colts at woodley inspired a record trojan runchase of 270 in 40 overs. His innings of 62* was pivotal in leading the trojans to victory.

Nikhil was one of the most dependable batsmen in the team and finished the 2009 season with a career high average of 48 in 7 matches.

Since the formation of the club, there has been great progress in the development and spreading of cricket within the Trojan family. In 2002, the USC Cricket team participated in the Southern California Cricket Association (SCCA) league for the very first time and won it's division title the same year and won laurels for the school and kept the Trojan flag flying high.
