Cromwell Premier League

Cromwell Cricket is the hugely popular tape ball format here at USC. This format of the game has been in existence for a few years now and is extremely popular amongst the subcontinent student population here at USC. Cromwell is the ideal way to kick off the weekend for all, it is held every Friday night evening from 6 pm till 11 pm at the Cromwell Track and Field in USC and is played under lights. The newer and improved version of cromwell the Cromwell Premier League was started in spring 2008 on the lines of the Indian Premier League. At the beginning of every semester the registration opens for all players who wish to play in this format. Around 125 players register every year for this format; 6 captains are then chosen amongst the players. The the USC Cricket Board organizes an auction meeting where these 6 captains meet and all the players in roster are auctioned and traded before the start of the season. After the auction, captains may trade, exchange players amongst themselves. Once the season kicks off each team faces every other team once. At the end the top 4 teams make it to the semi-finals and then the winners play in for the Cromwell Cricket Trophy. Every year, the response and enthusiasm for CPL has increased and this format of the game has become increasingly popular amongst the student population here at the University of Southern California.
